
Plot summary: In the early 13th century, Tibetan craftsmen produced the Heart of Dunhuang which could open the Sharira -- a relic purported to contain the pure essence of Xuanzang, a holy man in the Buddhist religion. As centuries passed by, the guardiansforthe relics in Dunhuang were no longer monks but gradually changed to an acrobatic family. They continued the sacred mission of protecting the holy things. The youngest descendants of the acrobatics family -- Pak Yin Fay (Michelle Yeoh), Pak Yeuk Tong and his sister were performing in Qingdao. At that time, Yin's former boyfriend and her father's (Zhao Wenxuan) apprentice Eric (Ben Chaplin) was sent by the rich man Karl to steal the Heart of Dunhuang and succeeded. Hearing about the secret of the Heart of Dunhuang, once again Eric stole the treasure from Carl. Carrying the Heart of Dunhuang, Eric went to Pak family. Because of her family mission, Yin resented Eric's disappearance in three years. And angry Karl sent subordinates to attack Pak family. Later, Pak family and Karl's men launched a battle for the treasure in Dunhuang...
