Qingdao Daily/Qingdao View/Dailyqd.com ASEM High-Level Forum on Digital Connectivity opened on June 19 in Qingdao. Wang Yang, member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, and Yim Chhai Ly, vice prime minister of Kingdom of Cambodia attended the opening ceremony and gave keynote speeches. It is reported that this forum takes “Unleashing Potential for Innovative Growth” as its theme, which is a subsequent activity to practice the outcome of the 11th ASEM Summit and also a vivid embodiment of China’s promotion of Asia-Europe pragmatic cooperation as a member of the meeting. The forum was cosponsored by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China as well as China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and undertaken by Qingdao Municipal Government. Near 600 representatives from 49 member governments, enterprises, commerce associations, research institutions and relevant international groups of Asia-Europe Meeting attended the forum.

This forum will come into Qingdao Initiative, an outcome file which reflects the wishes and advice from Asia-Europe Meeting members on deepening digital connectivity and cooperation. The file will be submitted to ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and ASEM Summit after the closing of the forum.
