
On July 11, Mr. Michael Worbs, Chairperson of the UNESCO Executive Board, and Madam Mariam Katagum,Ambassador/Permanent Delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO, and other delegates, who were invited to the International Forum on ICT and Education 2030, made a special trip to 1907 Movie Club, Qingdao Wanda Film-Television Industrial Park, etc. 1907 Movie Club, a century-old German architecture where the Seemannshaus was located, is the earliest commercial cinema existing in China. Mr. Michael Worbs showed great interest in 1907 Movie Club and 1907 Movie Museum. He spoke highly of Qingdao's effective use and protection of historic outstanding buildings. The delegation also visited the West Coast Planning Exhibition Hall and Wanda Film-Television Industrial Park to understand the operation of the industrial park. Heads of Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication and Huangdao District accompanied the delegation. They introduced Qingdao's application for the status as the City of Film of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), and expressed the city's willingness to strengthen cooperation with UNESCO and related creative cities.
