??With the young submariners born in the 1990s as the heroes, the TV series Sharp Sword in Deep Sea tells the story ofChinese navy that are training command officers for the new submarine under development according to the elite-recruiting “T Plan”. It is for the purpose of repelling the repeated invasion of foreign submarines.

Since October, 2016 when Sharp Sword in Deep Sea started shooting, the crew have been touring in Dalian, Qingdao, Wuhan, Sanya, Ningbo, Wuxi and other places to shoot the drama.More than 300 crew members, director and actors included, have been following all the way through all year round with high-intensity work. When the TV series was shooting in Qingdao, Sanya and other places, Director Zhao Baogang overcame the tough condition of narrow internal space and lack of oxygen in the submarine and shot inside the submarine. He also went out to the sea for several times. Escorts, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles were used several times to fully demonstrate the strength of submarine force of Chinese navy, the spirit of submarine officers and soldiers, and the significant achievements that China has made through the strategy of strengthening the army through science and technology. From October, 2016 to the late March of 2017, it tookalmost half a year to shoot Sharp Sword in Deep Sea. As Director Zhao Baogang said, he wanted to present a quality TV series that deserves the expectation and trust of the audiences.
