The Qingdao Shangjie Li Historical City Film and Television Shooting Base includes seven major areas: Zhanqiao Huilan Ge, Zhongshan Road Urban Memory Museum, Hailing Mountain Alliance Square, Sanjiangli District, Huangdao Road District, Zhongshan Road Main Street, and Little Qingdao.
The old city has a rich European flavor and diverse scene elements, which are very "on camera" in many film and television documentaries!
Zhanqiao Huilan Ge
The wharf was first built in 1891, with a total length of 440 meters. Inside the embankment, there is a distinctive two-story octagonal tower called Huilan Pavilion, with a total construction area of 354.12 square meters. At the northern end of the wharf, there is a wharf park along the coast, with lush flowers and trees and pleasant scenery.
As a classic landmark in Qingdao, Zhanqiao has been repeatedly featured in movies and TV shows such as "Good Morning, Winter Sea", "Meeting You Coincidentally", and "The Best of Us".
Zhongshan Road Urban Memory Museum
The Zhongshan Road Urban Memory Museum is the former site of the Qingdao Chamber of Commerce, which was built in 1906. It records the unique memories formed by Qingdao people at different times during the 130 years since the opening of Qingdao as a port. Walking into the Zhongshan Road Urban Memory Museum, six sections are set up in chronological order along the times, including Old Street Tracing, Red Mark, Commercial Mother, Cultural Prosperity, Classic Architecture, and Fashion Charm. Through countless old photos, objects, scenes, and stories, they showcase unique memories about Zhongshan Road.
Sea Oath Mountain Alliance Square
The Sea Oath Mountain Alliance Square is located in front of Qingdao St. Michael's Cathedral, with an area of approximately 3600 square meters, surrounded by the Sacred Heart Monastery and other church buildings. The St. Michael's Cathedral is the largest Gothic architecture in Qingdao and the only consecrated church in China. It is also a masterpiece of church architectural art.
The unique scenery here has also attracted many film crews. "Cutting off the Claw" has filmed both interior and exterior scenes here. In "After the Trap," "Hard Guy 2," and "The Basic Law of Genius," landmark buildings such as the Catholic Church and the Oath Square have become eye-catching scene elements in the drama.
Sanjiangli District
The Sanjiangli area includes five courtyards with a total area of approximately 5700 square meters, and the Jining branch road running through the block is approximately 150 meters long. The predecessor of Sanjiangli was the Sanjiang Guild Hall, which has a history of over a hundred years. Sanjiang Guild Hall is one of the three major guilds in Qingdao, and also the most prosperous one. It has nurtured the earliest culture in Qingdao, with stages, theater buildings, traditional Chinese martial arts halls, and primary schools all born in Sanjiang Guild Hall.
The third episode of the documentary "Renewal" on the protection and renewal of Qingdao's historic urban area, "Youth · Sanjiangli," focuses on the protection and renewal of Sanjiangli; In the inspirational short variety show "Super Speakers - Yao Yan Pai", guests visited popular check-in spots such as the Sanjiangli Micro Museum.
Huangdao Road area
As a seafood street in Qingdao's history, the Huangdao Road area retains the texture of the 1970s and 1980s. The cultural resources in the courtyard area around Huangdao Road are abundant, with a building area of about 12000 square meters and a block length of about 300 meters.
The neighborhood is filled with the smoke and fire of secular life, and the residents here still live a slow and simple life to this day. The buildings on both sides of the courtyard have different patterns and fa ç ade styles, exuding a humanistic atmosphere. Various film and television works often come here for filming and location.
The TV drama "Stories in Time" is set in Qingdao from the 1990s to the early 2000s, with the main filming locations being Shinanliyuan and Tongzilou. The narrow corridor is well ventilated at both ends, and the low rise buildings are messy and dilapidated, carrying the memories of Qingdao in the 1990s.
Zhongshan Road Main Street
Zhongshan Road was first built in 1898, with a longitudinal span of over 1500 meters. It starts from Dayaogou in the north and ends at Qianhai Pier in the south. It is one of the earliest planned and constructed roads in Qingdao. As the core block of the old city area, Zhongshan Road once enjoyed prosperity on par with Wangfujing in Beijing. In the profound historical accumulation, Zhongshan Road embodies characteristic elements such as shopping, finance, catering, entertainment, culture, and architecture. It is like the shadow left by old Qingdao, carrying the memories of countless people and hidden in the bits and pieces of time.
In the TV drama "The Circuit Prosecutors' Team", the buildings and street spaces on Zhongshan Road captured in a top-down shot leave a deep impression on people. In addition to the sense of a century old era, the flowing crowds on the streets and the bustling shops make the camera image more vivid. In the movies "Hard Guy" and "A Better Tomorrow 2", Zhongshan Road is also very "photogenic". 67ca8672ed868.jpg
Little Qingdao
Little Qingdao is as small as a snail, located in Qingdao Bay on the north side of the mouth of Jiaozhou Bay. Here, the mountains and rocks are handsome, the trees are lush, and the lighthouse stands tall and shimmers, facing the wharf across the sea. The Little Qingdao and Lighthouse are known as the "Floating Lanterns of Qinyu" and have also become one of the "Ten Scenic Spots of Qingdao".
Many people who have watched 'The Hard Guy' know that the entire film series was filmed in Qingdao, and the crew also filmed on the breakwater at the end of Little Qingdao. From the direction of Qingdao, you can see the same scenery as in the movie when looking at the Zhanqiao and Badaxia areas.
The story of the film "Legend of the Heavenly Vein" starts from modern Qingdao, and the opening subtitles clearly indicate the words "Qingdao (modern)", with Little Qingdao being one of the most concentrated outdoor locations in the film.
