On December 20th, 2024, the ASIFA International Animation Academic Conference was held at the Oriental Film Capital in Qingdao. More than 70 experts, scholars, and industry elites from the animation field at home and abroad gathered at the Oriental Film Capital to share academic knowledge on topics such as "animation history," "pan animation," and "AI creation.
This conference is hosted by ASIFA International Animation Association and ASIFA-CHINA International Animation Association China Branch, co organized by Beijing Asifa Animation Technology Research Institute, and organized by Qingdao Oriental Film and Television Industry Park. ASIFA was founded in France in 1960 and is the only global animation organization under the guidance of UNESCO, with branches established in nearly 40 countries and regions worldwide. This conference is the second international animation academic conference organized by ASIFA, aiming to provide a platform for academic exchange for animation practitioners, and also hoping to provide new ideas and paths for the integration of animation and technology through the platform of Oriental Film City.
As a leading industrial production base for film and television in China, Oriental Film Capital has rich experience in film and television production and technical services. In recent years, Oriental Film Capital has also actively promoted the application of new technologies in animation production, innovatively integrating film virtual shooting technology into animation production in the animated drama "Starting from Gu Huo Bird". In 2023, Oriental Movie Metropolis Daily reached a strategic cooperation with World Wide Cat Animation Company, providing motion capture services for multiple animation projects such as "God's Tomb 2", "Jiang Ye", and "The Legend of Mortal Cultivation"; In December of this year, we collaborated with Beijing Ruosen Digital to conduct a full process technical test on the animation project of "Seven Star Lu Palace in Tomb Robbery Notes", covering shooting, motion capture, data processing and other aspects. At the same time, we formed the first technical service team composed of students from multiple universities in Qingdao.
In the future, Oriental Cinema will continue to deeply cultivate the animation industry, constantly explore innovation, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with animation enterprises and universities, cultivate compound and innovative talents for the industry through project practice and new technology application, and empower the high-quality development of China's animation industry.
