Qingdao Zhanqiao Pier is one of the seaside scenic spots in Qingdao. It is listed among the first group of national scenic spots approved by the State Council in 1982 and among the first group of the AAAA national tourist attractions.

Situated at the south of the Zhongshan Road crowded with visitors, Qingdao Zhanqiao Pier extends from the coast into the depth of the crescent-like Qingdao Bay. Visitors can walk along the pier and take a board here to view the city on the sea.

Established inthe 18th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1892), Zhanqiao Pier is known as the earliest wharf for military purpose in Qingdao, and an important landmark building and a famous scenic sport in the region. 

The steal-concrete pier is 440 meters long and 8 meters wide. On the south end of the pierstandsa semicircle breakwater, within which lies an octagonal pavilion called Huilange (literally Rolling Billow Pavilion) with a strong local touch. Standing at the pavilion, visitors can leisurely watch waves surge ahead, and this elevates it as one of the top 10 scenic spots in Qingdao. On the north of the pieris the seat of Zhanqiao Park, where luxuriant and well-s??paced flora and vegetation dominate. Visitors can sit on the stone bench there and have a good coastal view.
