Through “Three Steps”, Qingdao West Coast New Area will carry out “Ten Major Actions” to enhance soft power, push forward “30 Priorities”, and create an active, powerful and attractive new area. On July 17, Qingdao West Coast New Area had a regional mobilization meeting of soft power enhancement project, which officially sounded the trumpet of striving for synchronized improvement of both hard and soft power.

“Three Steps” refers to the plan of making culture, technology, environment, education and other soft power indicators of building a moderately prosperous society achieve the target value within the next three years from 2017. By 2021, all goals for soft power indicators determined in the first Party Congress of the new area will be realized, and over 60% target values will reach the pilot standard of basic implementation of a modern country with the international level raised significantly. By 2024, the beautiful new area with important influence in China and certain reputation around the world will be basically established; on this basis, it will stride forward to be a marine technology innovation center with global influence as well as a modern internationally-known new area.

It’s said that the new area released the Implementation Outline of Soft Power Enhancement Project “Ten Major Actions” and made an overall plan for the soft power enhancement project. The West Coast New Area will build the Great Wall of Qi Natural and Cultural Landscape Belt as well as Langyatai National Heritage Park, strive to be the National Cultural Industrial Demonstration Zone, promote international cultural exchanges, and build a world class City of Films, City of Beer and Island of Music.
