Qingdao Film Academy is located on the beautiful golden sand beach of Qingdao West Coast New District. Since its birth, it has been born for the development of the film and television industry. Its predecessor was the Modern Creative Media School of Beijing Film Academy (the only independent college of Beijing Film Academy) established in 2011).

On May 31 this year, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the School of Modern Creative Media of Beijing Film Academy was successfully transferred to Qingdao Film Academy. It was wholly-owned by Qingdao Haifa Group and became the only film academy named by the city in Qingdao.

Qingdao Film Academy is currently the only undergraduate film college in China except for Beijing Film Academy. The school has 8 teaching departments, including literature department and director department, 1 basic teaching department, 1 international education college and a film and television creation center. It has formed a film and television art center, covering 4 university disciplines such as art and management. , The situation of coordinated development of multi-disciplinary and multi-professional teachers. The school currently has 23 undergraduate majors, including a provincial-level first-class discipline and major construction site, six undergraduate majors with superior characteristics of the school, and more than 2,300 students.

At present, the school has trained seven graduates. They have completed more than 300 joint graduation assignments. Their works have won numerous awards at home and abroad, and have been highly praised by experts and scholars at home and abroad. The school ranks among the top three private universities in the “2021 Alumni Association China Program”, ranks among the top 20 private universities in the country, and has been rated as a 5-star Chinese first-class private university. It has become more prominent among the existing domestic film academies. Next year, five new undergraduate majors will be established. On the basis of expanding and strengthening undergraduate education, we will strive for master's degree awarding points and increase graduate-level enrollment.

At the unveiling ceremony, the UNESCO Film Capital (Qingdao) Research Institute and the Beijing Film Academy (Qingdao) Research Institute were established at the same time to open up contacts with film capitals of various countries, and are committed to the development of higher-level film and television research and strengthening the film industry Research and do our best to promote the continuous development and strength of China's film industry.

The inauguration of the Qingdao Film Academy (Oriental Film and Television Industrial Park) training base and the Institute of Underwater Photography provide hardware guarantees for the school's practical teaching and students' hands-on practice.

The Oriental Film Metropolis Underwater Filming Center is a benchmark for domestic film and television bases in terms of technical conditions and control capabilities. The school cooperated with Oriental Film Capital to start underwater photography research, and invited the top domestic underwater photography director Jia Hao to impart experience and teach students the professional technology of underwater photography and underwater drone photography.
