In recent years, the West Coast New Area has regarded the "Capital of Film and Television" as the top of its four international calling cards and has attached great importance to the film and television culture industry. Taking the Oriental Movie Metropolis as the leading player, it has established a film and television development pattern of "Lingshan Bay in the east and Zangma Mountain in the west", radiating across the entire Qingdao area. The Lingshan Bay Cultural Zone has become the core area of the "1+N" film and television base layout in Shandong Province.

Since its construction started in 2013 and the Oriental Movie Metropolis began operation in 2018, it has helped many Chinese blockbusters to rise and witnessed the breakthroughs of domestic TV dramas. At the same time, the Qingdao Film and Television Base has continuously promoted scientific and technological construction, built a highland of film and television technology, attracted many leading enterprises and renowned filmmakers to settle in, and formed a powerful film and television supplier alliance.

Since 2020, more than 60 film crews have been introduced every year, and the number of filed projects has exceeded 380. In April this year, the Northern Micro-Short Drama Film and Television Base (Zangma Mountain, Qingdao) started operation, enriching the connotation of the Qingdao Film and Television Base.

Driving along the Binhai Avenue to Lingshan Bay, a new film and television culture city has emerged. The new area has listed the film and television culture industry chain as a key focus. More than 1,000 film and television enterprises have gathered in the core area, and over 300 film crews have been received. Qingdao Haifa Group, the leading enterprise in the industry chain, promotes industrial integration. The base lays out high-end value chains and hosts a number of film and television-themed cultural and tourism activities.

The West Coast New Area has established a film and television industry development fund and introduced a series of policies, shifting from supporting excellent works to providing precise support for key links. It has built a one-stop public service platform, promoted the construction of Qingdao Film Academy, and cooperated with multiple educational and research institutions to cultivate film and television talents.

In the future, relying on industrial coordination, policy leverage, and talent support, the Qingdao Film and Television Base will create a multi-business format industrial cluster, become a leader in film and television industrialization, and continue to write the legendary stories of light and shadow.
